Sunday, was a short visit to Reculver Towers, and as we turned up there were literally hundreds if not over 1000 House Martins all gathered around the top of the Towers, I don't know how long they had been there, but assume they were gathering before moving on to migrate.

Amazing to see, and great to try and photograph, trying to get some sharp in flight shots being harder than you could imagine, quite a challenge, at least the sun was on my side and high shutter speeds but it was still quite challenging, and I did pretty well thankfully, I was pleased with these.

Also pleased that I have now photographed over the past year all four birds, the Swallows/Swifts/Sand Martins and House Martins.

On the way back there was a Wheatear flying out of the rocks catching flies, i've still yet to get a decent in flight shot of the Wheatear but a nice portrait on the rocks as below.
